How Would You Feel?

From time to time, I get in a bit of a rant mode; Lately, it has been one of "how would your feel?" Yeah, I am kinda stuck on the negative at the moment but, read on later in the week, I have some positive "how would you feels" coming up. Today, I wanted to talk about, in a tongue and cheek manner, about feeling like a criminal for doing the right thing.

Let me begin by telling you what I did that I thought was so right. In my humble loft, amidst my wreckage caused by my curse of never wanting to throw anything away, I felt a tad bit remorse about the amazing number of plastic grocery bags I accumulated. Now, I have read interesting articles about turning them into door mats, I don't get much company. That solution wouldn't work.

Next my mind turned into what I should do. A few days later, at the local grocery check out, I noticed they were selling re-usable bags. Like the ones my non-modern-obsolete grandparents used to use when they took me to market. Back in the oh-so-stupid days when we demanded fresh produce and the right to haggle over price. I was so struck by them as a solution that I actually uttered "eureka". I bought two.

The hippie in me really felt good about it. No more excessive plastic bags met I was sparing the life of many plastic plants out there. I don't know what ecosystem they grow in but plants that never need water and fade so little MUST be preserved. I left and anxiously awaited my next walk to the grocery store. Unfortunately, everything after that was just a mixed bag.

The next time I went to the store, I forgot the bags. Filled with negative feelings, I was determined not to do the same next visit. In that I did succeed, the next day, I arrived with both bags. I strolled in feeling good, grabbed a basket, and headed to produce. On my merry, proud way I was stopped by a police officer shouting at me.

Maybe it is just me but I am pretty bitter at NBC. Maybe it is just the old skewl in me, having grown up in an era of MASH, All in the Family and so many other shows and networks that, in those days, did things a bit different. I can not believe they simply axed heroes. It is wrong on several fronts.

First of all, I am one of those late era baby boomers who has an opinion on this. A very strong one. You end a series with closure... not a cliff hanger to seeing if you will have more viewers next season. Like what the hell are you thinking NBC? Hey Jericho fans sent nuts because of a line in the series.. I suggest we send the NBC execs brains for they certainly lack them regarding this decision.

And yeah NBC, it may have not been the best of the best rated shows. It still fared pretty well and uh, look at the rest of your schedul. Heroes had something your network deseperately need.. regular viewers. People like me who got hooked and made no other plans on Monday nights. Now that is my "anything but NBC" night.

Yeah, I don't post here much anymore. I guess I finally got comfortable with my mostly rambling mouth and accepted the fact that I lean long on the audio ends of thing. Besides I have been busy with a few new habits. Twitter being on of em' and, along with @meshelly420, busy with @1nd1esoup, the best weekly indie music show possible. (That and the fact that we are very modest co-hosts.) Then there is the fact that indienation.fm will launch 1 May but that is another post. Besides, it takes far fewer keystrokes to speak into a mic and hit record. This king of typo and muspuller likes that. ;)

Besides, I must agree with many... The cliche "you should read my blog" is now "you should follow my tweets". Speaking of tweeps, I met a few kewl ones recently. One being @fuglycharles who led me to follow @jenfriel. They both write over at Talk Nerdy to Me Lover.... I think Fugly tweeted about a post....

The bottom line is I think it one kewl blog. Check out the pick up lines.. although I think I have been using a few of them for over 10 years now, they are a riot.
