Reading through my feeds this AM, I read:
"Polonium-210, which has recently become well-known as one of the deadliest substances in the world--is available for purchase on the Web."
As one might suspect, it has legit and good uses as well. I am still somewhat surprised that anything that can activate a Geiger counter is so easily available. Especially in an era when taking mouthwash onto an air flight is looked at with suspicion.
The article in the San Francisco Chronicle quotes the price at 69.00. Of course, one should also take into account that the distributing site is run by "a physicist and flying saucer enthusiast". Add to the fright, the order is shipped US Postal Service. So we can have radioactive dust, one speck of it ingested being lethal, and your aunt's special chocolate brownies transported on the same truck?
