Tid Bits Vol. 1, No. 3

Well color me simple. Last time I wrote a "Tid Bit" I labeled it volume 2. That is just wrong. It should be issue 2, vol. 1. And, to think, I used to edit a college newspaper.

Regardless, I am going to keep this little sporadic thing going. After all, if I received a barrage of e-mails telling me about that blunder, it means you are reading it. Thank you all who pointed out my blunder.

In non-cyber areas of Lumpy's life, my hometown is well on its way to setting a new record. Cleveland is about 5 inches away from setting a new record for snowfall in one winter. The weathermen all say that we should hit that easily before the weekend ends.

Now I have lived in the greater Cleveland area all of my life and I am, pretty much, a winter kind of guy. I am, however, growing tired of seeing "records". In my life, I have witnessed: the longest stretch of consecutive days below zero, the longest consecutive number of days below freezing, the most snow deposited by "lake effect" (76 inches in five days), the most snow dropped in 24 hours, and the worst blizzard on record.

I have often wondered how people live here all their lives and complain about the weather. I would think "why are you here in the first place?" Now I have to consider whether the weather just "got to them". I admit it; I am looking forward to spring.

Grinny's parents did however lighten things up a good bit for me. A care package arrived from Japan this made me on one happy Lumpster. So that is where I have been in non-cyberspace and now here is where I have drifted in CyberSpace.

Here are today's links:

  • Roadfood - is a site which features mom and pop style eateries across America. I could use a road trip about now and I am always hungry
  • Godzilla move over I do believe you have met your match, meet maudzilla. I found that pic linked to at one of the blogs I will be hyping in one of my future "blog blogs". The site is blueishorange
  • MusicPole - another new twist on the keyboard and another attempt to make learning music optional. I have mixed feeling about this one. What do you all think?
  • To end on a more serious note, I find it rather interesting that it seems the more we learn the less we seem to know. I remember in the recent past that NASA scientist were all excited about hopes of life on Mars, then Europa a moon of a Titan planet was the next candidate and now it is Saturn's moon Titan which is most Earth like. Not to be a cynic, but I wonder if we will ever just give up and say "there is nothing else out there"? Honestly, I hope not. I love reading about space exploration.

Well fellow Web Surfers that is the end of the eclectic list for today.

Lost in CyberSpace and getting fat on sushi,
Lumpy
