Why I Am Anal About Permission Letters Tweet

I take a lot of flack regarding not being the "unboss" about one particular thing at Indie Nation.  Well, technically, I am anal about 2 matters.  One of them is simply that I insist on quality productions.  Bad ground, bad microphone, head cold or what ever are not acceptable excuses for poor audio podcasts.  The end product must be quality.

The biggest thing I am a dictator about is that I am 100% about getting permission for every track we play.  We either play Creative Commons material or get explicit permission from the right holder.   The reality is that the current entrenched industry, world wide, has lobbied laws that, in fact, make individuals like myself guilty until proven innocent.  Here are a few examples:
