I take a lot of flack regarding not being the "unboss" about one particular thing at Indie Nation. Well, technically, I am anal about 2 matters. The biggest thing I am a dictator about is that I am 100% about getting permission for every track we play. We either play Creative Commons material or get explicit permission from the right holder. The reality is that the current entrenched industry, world wide, has lobbied laws that, in fact, make individuals like myself guilty until proven innocent. Here are a few examples:
- Warner Brothers Issues DMCA Take Down Letters without Viewing the Videos
- Suit Filed Over Creative Commons Compilation
