My Bloghood

There seems to be a lotta hype about bloggin' communities of the late. I have noticed a good number of posts about blogs in a geographic area. I did a search for my blog and found an interesting list of blogs at globe of blogs. I was in a quick surf mode so I spent about a half hour of my life skimming the following:

  • Filtering Craig - A kewl blog on rock and roll and other things, perfect for the Rock N' Roll Capitol of the world.
  • I like to eat and my figure proves it. I never realized that this rap was actually about a real place until I happened on this blog. I bet I shall visit again.
  • fricative - a nice personal blog
  • I like plants so, naturally, I found garden gal interesting
  • Jack/zen an nice personal blog
  • Improvised Schema - a very neat blog on architecture
  • The Joyful Parent - a Christian blog on parenting
  • delightful taste - a personal blog with a nice pink girlish look

So there you have it, welcome to my bloghood.

Grinny Gone?

I long ago confessed to the fact that my heart had been struck by cupid and even wrote haikus inspired by her. I have no problem admitting that I am totally in love with her. I have blogged many times about our adventures. Grinny and I have now endured over one year. (Better put she has put up with me.)

Grinny and I have known since the day we met that our future would be very uncertain. There have always been things that could force our splitting. For starters, Grinny is from Japan. She is here on a student visa earning her masters degree. Her ability to stay in the USA is dependent on her employment. It truly is a situation bittersweet.

Since she entered my life, I have been forever changed. If she remains in it, I will believe I will be forever happy. If her and I should part, I will still feel blessed and enriched by ever having met her.

Big Storm - Big worries

I am at work right now and have dozens and dozens of things to do. My "to do" list is rivaling the Nile for length. I am overwhelmed and just had to take a breather and blog.

I am worried about my GF. Grinny is in Florida and a certain Category 3 storm named Wilma is heading right for her. Now Grinny is on the east coast of Florida but this storm is huge. I can't help but worry. I am also stressing over a few other things but there will be more posted on that later.

As many of you know, my girlfriend is from a suburb of Tokyo. My life since meeting her has not only been enriched but it has been one of cultural expansion. I have finally learned to "taste" rice. I have even managed to make rice properly using a pressure cooker. I know, I know, all of my American friends are say "how can you mess up rice?"...

A little over a year ago, I thought the same thing. It took me but a brief time to learn the difference. I have long been a rice eater. I eat rice at least five days a week. I did this even before I met Grinny (not her real name, another cultural thing, I always refer to her by that here and never post her photos here). I, unlike a good number of the Japanese, prefer brown and wild rice. I used to just add water and boil it.

The Real Story Behind "Lumpy MIA"

I know that many of you have been wondering where the good Lumpy has been. Contrary to my X-wife's fantasies, I was not sucked into a Cyber-vortex and devoured by the Wicked Cyber-Witch of the West. I have still been doing what I do best...

That would be, of course, botching up things technical. I have simply expanded my horizons in that area and now do it in more ways and more locations. First off, Exios and I are still doing radiostatic. This gives me a whole new area to unleash my technological touch of terror. I can now play with audio and screw it up as fast as Courtney Love can screw up a love song.
